Project Selection- My Desicion

I and two other candidates have chosen to work on a film project together. It'll be an introductory to a film of a young girl who has powers. Personally, i have experience in drama and theatrics and understand certain elements to acting and directing that will be an asset to the team. The other two have experience in story boarding and character design. The film will be a science fiction and fantasy with hints at coming-of-age. The character will try to hide her undiscovered powers while simultaneously use them in a lawful manner to maintain justice within her community. The film would have potential for scenes with high tension, comedy, suspense, and feel good moments.

Project Selection- Magazine

Print journalism is about raising awareness. I find it very important that the general public is educated on current events- but more specifically the facts. With the new age of internet, information spreads like wildfire but can be misconstrued in it's big game of "telephone". Information can be manipulated and read without fact checking. That's why print journalism is so important to me; I want there to be a valid source of information for the general public to trust. People need to know true facts and hard evidence such as how the government has never funded the abortions in Planned Parenthood, before the protest and affect the lives of others. Standing up for what is right and growing as people, as a nation, are two of my strongest morals. Print journalism is how we can reach that. How we can better ourselves as a whole. This project will come as a challenge for me for a multitude of reasons but primarily my empathy. I will have to keep the project truly unbiased.
